Robot World Opens With a Song

|
The Robot World 2006 conference and expo is taking place Oct. 18, 2006 (Wed.) - Oct. 22, 2006 (Sun.) in the COEX Pacific Hall of the Seoul Trade Center, Seoul, South Korea. Opening the conference are performances by EveR-2 Muse (newly unveiled pop-star sister to EveR-1) and the ever-popular Albert Einstein-faced Hubo.

For the opening, Hubo stood next to Commerce Minister Chung Sye-kyun for the tape-cutting and was later featured in a rendition of "The Wizard of Oz". EveR-1, played the role of commentator for the opening ceremony.

EveR-2 Muse then stepped on stage to make her debut as a singer with the ballad "I Will Close Your Eyes," but some parts in her neck were damaged after her morning photo shoot with the press, so she had to stand stiff-necked and lip-sync to the music with minimal arm motion. I guess she won't be "closing our eyes" any time soon.

Other events at the expo and conference will be competitions for the best in: Robot soccer, Robot Tank, Robot Tekwon, Cleaning Robot, Robot Lifesaving, 10 fields of Humanoid Robots, Intelligent Robots, and "Robot Fest"

"I Will Close Your Eyes"?! Are these android makers just taunting us with inevitable destruction?
