DARPA Grand Challenge Winner Has New Book, Ideas for 'Bots

|
Sebastian Thrun, director of the Stanford AI Lab and DARPA Grand Challenge winner, has a new book out called Probabilistic Robotics. It is "a new and growing area in robotics, concerned with perception and control in the face of uncertainty. Building on the field of mathematical statistics, probabilistic robotics endows robots with a new level of robustness in real-world situations."

Yes, "uncertainty" is correct. This new area of robotics that may have beneficial yet dangerous consequences if we're not careful.
