Just Your BASIC Run of the Mill Robots

Bill Gates wrote in his article for the January Scientific American: A Robot in Every Home that the goal of MSRS is to be to Robotics what BASIC was to to the early PC. If this is any indication of the MS strategy, and if the Microsoft Robotics Group is their idea of Bill Gates and Paul Allen of the 70s, then who will be the QDOS and Apple this time around?
